Blue Bell Ice Cream
The Winning Scoop
60 seconds

A boy tosses a rosin bag in the air as it hits the dirt next to his feet on the pitcher’s mound. (Immediately cutting to) the pitcher throws the ball, (a slow motion shot of) the batter swings and strikes out, ball lands in catcher’s mitt.
The boy striking out painfully accepts his failure and walks away from the batter’s box. (Shot is from first base) he walks toward the dugout, taking his helmet off he looks at the scoreboard, and with disgust, sighs in agony.
Walking through the dugout, after several pats on the back from teammates, boy sits on the bench and sobs.
(Cut to the stands) a concerned sister ponders, thinking of ways to lift her brother’s spirits. She realizes immediately, there is something she can do. Sister jumps up from her seat and runs down the middle isle taking off toward the concession stand nearby.
As she approaches the concession stand she looks up, barely being able to see over the counter, she stands on her toes. An older man with white hair appears over the counter.
Vendor:
What can I do for you little lady?
Sister:
It’s my brother, he’s having bad game.
Vendor:
Ahh. Well darling, I have just the thing.
Man pushes a pint cup of vanilla Blue Bell ice cream across the counter. With both hands the girl grabs the ice cream, pauses looking down at it, then looks back to the man with a smile.
Sister:
Gee thanks mister!!
The sister runs toward the dugout to find her brother still sobbing at the end of the bench. She slowly approaches him. He looks up right into her eyes as she holds out the pint of ice cream with both hands. His facial expression instantly changes, as he smiles.
Sister:
I thought this might make you feel better.
She hands her brother the ice cream.
Brother:
You’re the best!
Boy takes a heaping spoonful of ice cream and eats it with a smile.

(TIME LAPSE) Continuing after the batter's rotation has revolved to Gibson.
The coach is standing at the edge of the dugout clapping his hands, motivating his team.
Coach:
Alright team, this is it. Gibson you’re up again son! This is your moment.
Boy jumps off bench and grabs a bat, coach puts the helmet on his head for him, with both hands resting on boy’s shoulders. Boy confidently looks into the coach’s eyes.
Coach:
You’ve got this son, get Jordan home and let’s tie it up!
Boy slowly walks toward the batter’s box with the bat to his side. (The shot is panning from the boys left side) the pitcher is on the mound tossing his rosin bag in the background, behind the pitcher in the far background the scoreboard is present displaying a score of 4-5, both players looking dead on at each other eye to eye.
As the boy steps up to the plate he sets up to bat. The pitcher shakes off a call from the catcher with a nod, then immediately nodding yes as if he had just received a call for a fastball.
The pitch is thrown and the boy cracks the ball deep into the outfield driving Jordan home from 3rd base. The outfielders chase the ball. The boy is rounding first, and soon rounding second. An outfielder scoops up the ball and throws to the cutoff at short stop. Boy is now rounding third headed home. The catcher lines up at home plate, and the short stop sets up to throw. (The shot is now from home toward the boy down the third base line) The boy runs his heart out as he strives to beat the throw home. The boy slides into home plate barely missing the tag out by the catcher scoring the winning run for his team. The umpire calls safe assuring the boy that he has won the game for his team.
As the teams rushes out to congratulate him on his home run the boy gets up and walks toward them. The team praises him with high fives and hugs. The boy then walks slightly in front of the team toward the dugout as the team still celebrates at home plate, walks over the pick up his back near the fence in front of his cheering fans, as he lifts the bat, he looks up at the stands and notices his sister who is smiling proud. He points to her and winks, then his smile radiates (as the shot freezes.)
